PRACTICE
STUDIO MÆRZ operates at the thresholds of art, architecture, and cultural practice—where material memory and digital speculation converge. Its work weaves together craft and code, gesture and geometry, creating spatial narratives that speak to both ancestral knowledge and algorithmic possibility.
In collaboration with artisans, institutions, and contemporary brands, the studio cultivates new forms of solidarity—constructing environments that are both fragile and resilient, ephemeral and enduring.
Each project is a lived proposition: an immersive field of relations where tradition is not only restored or preserved but transformed through engagement with emerging tools and shifting contexts.
From Basel to Tokyo and Seoul, STUDIO MÆRZ’s work has been recognized on an international stage, offering multidimensional experiences that resist categorization—situated between landscape and interface, ritual and prototype, past and becoming.

Nowk Choe is the author of two books. His first, Club Arena, examines nightclubs as a global architectural typology and documents Seoul’s club culture, often marginalized due to prevailing social taboos. His second, Jaha Shinwi, explores the life of an 18th–19th century Joseon polymath, addressing questions of tradition, modernity, and Seoul’s early emergence as a metropolis.
As an emerging curator selected by the Seoul Museum of Art, he curated and designed exhibitions including Cities in the Room, which investigated the shifting relationship between rooms and cities in the context of digital life and the pandemic. He is currently working on Fashion Runway Typology, a forthcoming book analyzing runway shows as architectural events—initiated on the recommendation of Virgil Abloh.
